Calling all under 18s in the Louth/Meath area. Because of demand, we are now running a second under 18s Drogheda Sail Training Bursary voyage in 2025 This voyage will start and finish in Drogheda, from June 09th - June 13th 2025 on the Brian Boru. The voyage is open to young people between 14-17, who live in or engage with services in Drogheda and the surrounding Louth/Meath area. The cost is €280, thanks to the very generous sponsorship of Drogheda Port Company, Louth County Council, EAST Terminals, Boskalis Irish Dredging & Irish Cement. To book, click here

Our 2024 season came to a successful conclusion last night as we celebrated the fifth NEIC Sail Training Voyages. Trainees were presented with their certificates at an Awards ceremony held in the National College of Ireland in the heart of North East inner city Dublin. Thanks to John Kane, Jacquelin (Jacko) Gorman and Shannon and Saoirse Fallon who spoke brilliantly about their experience onboard this year's voyages.
A huge thank you to North East Inner City - DublinDublin Port CompanyDublin City Council and the Department of Defence for their support in making this happen. Thanks also to National College of Ireland for hosting the event.

Our Cork U18s, currently at sea on the Tall Ship Maybe, have sent us their latest reports and photos........

Main watch day 1

Astounded at first sight of Maybe to see such a big sailing ship for the first time. A little shocked to see the beds on board but quickly made ourselves at home.

Making our way down from Cork city to Monkstown proved to be a great bonding exercise, as was all the UNO and Jenga.

A tasty bolognaise dinner and a good night's sleep have prepared us for our journey tomorrow!

Looking forward to setting sail tomorrow.

Main watch day 2
A memorable day. Left Monkstown en route for Wales, passing Irish navy divers and a dolphin on the way out. Passed Haulbowline and the navy ships, Cobh, and Spike island on the way out for Cork harbour, hoisting the sails for the first time.

A tasty lunch before a difficult passage, but thankfully there were enough sick buckets for everyone who needed one! Some dolphins at sunset to round out the day!

Trainee Alex Quinn Day 3
Woke up late after a long night passage, coming into Milford Haven. Immediately greeted by the sight of sloshing water and big, swirling seagulls. Made into Milford Haven itself around lunchtime.

Nice walk around Milford Haven stretching our legs after a long time at sea. Good to finally be back on dry land. Much needed shop to get some sweets and snacks. Tasty dinner and some much needed relaxation to end the day.

Early night tonight as we have a long, 24 hour passage back to Cork tomorrow.
